About Us

We are a team of experienced university counselors who have built our careers in university counseling at top tier international schools around the world. Collectively, we have more than 100 years of experience supporting international students through their university research and application process. Schools we have worked at include Dubai American Academy (UAE), Hong Kong International School, International School Manila (Philippines), NIST International School (Thailand), Seoul Foreign School (South Korea), Shanghai American School (China), Singapore American School and United World College of SE Asia (Singapore).
We enjoy working with young people and keep the student at the center of the process. We know that the university research and application process is less stressful and more successful if families have access to a proactive, systematic and comprehensive university counseling program that is developed and delivered by experienced university counselors.

Our Mission

GAP provides a student-centered, proactive, systematic and comprehensive university counseling program of the highest standard to grade 11-12 students who have limited or no access to university counseling. Our counselors provide the same kind of structure and individualized support we have given to students at international schools throughout our careers. We help students identify universities that are a good fit for them, and we help them prepare applications that represent them as unique learners and people. We believe “university admission is a match to be made, not a prize to be won” (Frank Sachs). Our highest priority is to help students clarify their values, assess their strengths, and identify their goals for post-secondary education intentionally providing them and their parents with accurate information and guidance about universities and their admissions processes. Our work aligns with NACAC’s Guide to Ethical Practice in University Admissions, which outlines the professional and ethical standards, policies, practices, and procedures that guide the activities of the secondary, post-secondary, and third-party participants in the university admissions process.

Our Vision

GAP’s vision is that all students have access to ethical and professional university counseling.
